Description
Nos 78, 79, and 80 on North Street are early 19th-century facades attached to much older buildings. They stand three storeys tall, with No 80 having a higher frontage and ridge line. Nos 78 and 79 are finished in stucco, while No 80 is made of painted brick. Each of Nos 78 and 79 has two window bays, although No 79 lacks a second-floor window. The windows are sash style with flat arches; however, No 79 is missing glazing bars, and the top storey of No 78 is missing horizontal glazing bars. Both buildings feature modern shop fronts on the ground floor. No 80 has two three-sided canted bays on the first and second floors, each with a sash window that lacks glazing bars. It also has a cornice with modillions above. The group is completed by Nos 74 to 81, including 75A, and the former St Olave's Church.
