Description
Stockbridge House is a 17th-century building located on Stockbridge Road, constructed in 1699 by carpenter John Lilliott. The house features a steeply pitched tiled roof with stacks at either end and is built from red brick. It has two storeys and five bays, with four windows on both the ground and first floors, each adorned with keystones. The centre window on the first floor is blocked but also has a keystone. The sash windows have flush boxes and intact glazing bars. A prominent cornice with modillions and egg and dart moulding runs along the top, and there is a stringcourse above the ground floor windows. The entrance features a doorway with Doric pilasters, an entablature, and a rectangular pediment, along with panelled reveals. The door itself has six moulded panels, with the top two cut away and glazed, and is topped by a semi-circular fanlight.
