Description

Laurel Cottage was built in 1820 as a private charity school for girls run by Mrs. Thomas Smith. It is a single-storey building with two windows, faced with cobbles and featuring red brick dressings and quoins. The roof is covered with slate. The windows retain their glazing bars, and there is a round-headed doorway that includes a semi-circular fanlight.
