Description

Sudley Lodge is a house dating to about 1825. Originally a two-storey stuccoed building, it was later extended to the north but has recently been reduced to an L-shaped block on the south and converted into flats. The main (south) front features a bay of three windows, with the central one originally a doorway, and a further single window. All windows are sashes with glazing bars. The house has deep, bracketed eaves, reduced at the rear. A doorway is located in the angle of the L, and it is topped by a large rectangular flat canopy supported by a single column at the corner. The building's appearance suggests a later date than its actual age. The design is attributed to John Shaw the younger.
