Description

The bandstand, likely built in the Edwardian era, is located on the promenade by the sea. It has an octagonal shape and stands on a new plinth that is about 2 feet high. The structure features slender iron columns topped with miniature Corinthian capitals, which support a canopy with a flat ceiling. The canopy has a wide projection over decorated brackets and a roof covered in copper, consisting of two sections: the lower section is cyma reversa, while the upper section is convex, rising to a finial. Both sections have decorated cresting along the edges, although some of this is damaged. The bandstand also includes decorated metal railings, which were partly detached at the time of inspection.
