Description

This is a pair of houses dating to around 1830, situated on the north side of New Road in Shoreham-by-Sea. The front is plastered and incised with a moulded band at ground-floor level. The roof is slated, with a central ridge stack, reduced in height at the sides and hidden by a front parapet wall. The building is two storeys high, with four regular central bays and single, narrower side bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes with cills, and the central four bays are flanked and divided by five strutted, fluted Corinthian pilasters that rest on the moulded band. The ground floor has four bays flanked by doorways with panelled doors and transom lights. There is a wooden verandah with a leaded, flat roof.
