Description

St Mary's House is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with a lower wing added in the 19th century. The main part of the house has a plastered facade with a mansard roof and a parapet. The roof slopes are covered with plain tiles, and slated above. The parapet has bracketed kneelers and end stacks, along with two flat-headed dormers. A slate roof extends to the right. The left-hand block presents a symmetrical five-window facade, while the right-hand wing has only two windows. The windows are sash windows without glazing bars, set in wooden frames with shallow segmental heads and cills. A panelled front door is located on the left, sheltered by an Ionic columned projecting entablature-hood porch. A panelled door with a transom light is found to the left of the right-hand wing.
