Description
Nos 6-12 on West Street in Shoreham-by-Sea are a row of cottages built in the mid-18th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed cobble with red brick dressings, including a band and quoins. They feature a red brick dentilled eaves cornice beneath a plain tiled roof, which has two ridge stacks positioned to the left and right of the center. The building is two stories high and has five windows on the first floor, although the center window is blocked. The ground floor has four windows, all of which are fitted with glazing bar sashes.
There are two doorways in the center: No 10 on the left has a 20th-century stable-type door, while No 8 on the right has a 20th-century glazed door. Additionally, there are two doors at the ends of the front; No 6 on the right features a 20th-century glazed door, and No 12 on the left has a 19th-century panelled door. All ground-floor openings have segmental heads.
