Description

Shoreham Court is a house, likely dating to around 1860, built in a neo-Gothic style. It has been divided into separate dwellings. The construction uses flint, with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has slate roofs with tall, irregular stacks. The house is two storeys high with garrets.

The front of the house has an irregular arrangement of windows. Important features include a gable on the right-hand side, featuring a projecting octagonal oriel window on the first floor. To the left of this gable is a smaller gable with a neo-Decorated window on the first floor, accompanied by a hollow-chamfered arch and a drip-mould over the entrance. Similar mouldings are present above a boarded front door. These gables project from the wing on the left, where a diagonal buttress with set-offs defines the corner. The two-bay wing on the left also has a central projecting stack, and another stack is located in the angle between the blocks, topped with an octagonal stack. A square, parapetted stair-tower is recessed on the left, incorporating cusped single lancet windows that reflect the position of the staircase within. A modern door has been inserted at the east side of this tower.
