Description

Church Cottage is a house dating to the 16th century. It is timber framed, though largely hidden by a whitewashed render with incised detail. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The house presents two gables to the street, with a rendered stack in the valley of the roof and a ridge stack on the right-hand side. The corners are quoined. The upper floor has two glazing bar sash windows set within strapwork surrounds, one in each gable. Ground floor windows feature raised keystones. A four-panel door is located to the left of centre, sheltered by a flat porch supported by Tuscan piers with pedestals and a dentilled cornice. 20th century extensions are present to the rear. Internally, the timber frame is visible.
