Description
Bluegates is a house dating from the 16th century, with later additions from the 19th century. It features a timber frame with whitewashed rendered infill and a plain tiled roof. The house is one storey and has an attic with a hipped dormer at the center, while the right side has a two-storey gable front cross wing. The windows are irregularly arranged and include leaded casements, some of which have a diamond pattern. On the ground floor, there is a central 20th-century square bay window with a hipped roof, and a ribbed plank door to the right. The cross wing has imitation half timbering.
Inside, the timber framing is visible, along with substantial ceiling joists and a renovated deep brick fireplace with a wooden lintel.
