Description

No. 83 West Street is a timber-framed building that was refronted in the 18th to early 19th century. It is two stories tall and features an old tile roof that is hipped on the left side, continuing from the roof of No. 84, known as The Old Mitre. The exterior is clad in colour-washed brick. On the first floor, there are three windows, while the ground floor has a modern shop front. The timber-framed panels are exposed on the south-west return wall along Fox Yard. This building was formerly known as The Fox Public House. Nos. 75 to 94, including Nos. 86A and 88A, form a group.
