Description

These are a group of early 19th century cottages located at 10, 11, and 12 Middle Church Lane. The cottages are constructed of brick and feature a brick dentil eaves cornice and an old tiled roof. Number 10 is taller than numbers 11 and 12 and includes a more recent attic storey with a 3-light boxed dormer. The first floor has a 2-light casement window, and the ground floor has a similar window to the right. The windows have flat heads and architrave frames. A modern rustic-style door is set within a doorcase of narrow, fluted pilasters, topped by a flat hood supported on shaped brackets. Numbers 11 and 12 each have a single 2-light casement window on the ground floor (the ground floor window of number 11 has been altered) and a 4-panelled door recessed behind a small pediment, which is moulded over the door of number 12. The buildings contribute to group value, not only amongst themselves but also with other listed buildings around the Churchyard, including those on Upper Church Lane (North-West Side), Lower Church Lane (West End), Church Passage and Vicarage Lane.
