Description
22 Lower Church Lane is a late 18th century refronting of 16th to 17th century cottages. The building is two stories with an attic, constructed of brick, featuring a brick dentil eaves cornice and an old tile mansard roof. The gable ends are tile-hung, and there is a large 16th to 17th century chimney stack on the right side, built up from a wide base with a steep-pitched tile back.
In the attic, there is one two-light casement dormer window. The first floor has a two-light segmental-headed casement window, and there is a similar window on the ground floor, which has a pair of two-panelled shutters. To the left, there is a modern door in a plain frame, supported by cut wooden brackets that hold a flat moulded wooden hood. There is also a very narrow bay recessed to the left of the building, featuring a tall wooden boarded door above and a wooden boarded door below.
