Description
Nos 18 and 19 on Lower Church Lane are late 18th century buildings that were refronted from cottages dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. These two-storey structures with an attic are made of brick and feature brick dentil eaves, a half-hipped mansard roof covered with old tiles, and tile-hung gable ends. The windows are similar to those found at No 22, but on the ground floor, each cottage has one fixed window with four panes. In the center, there are two six-panelled doors topped with flat moulded hoods. The elevation of No 18 facing the churchyard includes one small three-light casement window on the first floor and two similar windows on the ground floor. The rear of these cottages is timber-framed with colour-washed brick infilling, although this is now covered by a modern brick extension. Nos 18 and 19, along with Nos 22 to 31, form a cohesive group.
