Description
This is a barn dating from the 18th century, located 15 metres southwest of Emley Farm House. It has been restored in the 20th century. The structure is timber framed, standing on a brick and sandstone plinth. The right side features weatherboard cladding, while the exposed frame on the plinth consists of alternating bands of red and blue brick, with herringbone brick infill. The roof is plain tiled, half-hipped at one end, and sweeps down over an open aisle to the right-hand barn.
The barn is composed of two sections end to end. The left-hand barn has four framed bays braced to the first floor, with three leaded fixed windows across its length. There is a door located to the left of the centre, along with two additional doors, one above the other, to the left, and another door to the right. The right-hand barn has five bays and features central gabled opposing double doors. This barn is part of a notable group of farm buildings.
