Description
Blackhanger Farm House is a house dating from the late 16th century to the 17th century. It has a timber frame with brick and whitewashed infill, and some areas are rendered. The roof is half-hipped and covered with plain tiles. The house is two storeys high and consists of four framed bays, originally featuring a smoke bay. There is diagonal bracing to the first floor, right of centre. The house has stacks located to the left of centre and at the left end. There are three windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor, along with two casement doors, one on the left and one on the right. A new entrance has been added to the rear in the re-entrant angle with a 20th-century wing. The right-hand return front features galleted sandstone infill on the ground floor and a sandstone block plinth.
