Description

Glebe House is a house with a timber frame core, largely dating to the 17th century, but significantly altered in the early 19th and early 20th centuries. The front elevation is of red and blue brick with red brick dressings and sandstone rubble to the right-hand return front, topped by a hipped plain tile roof with an end stack. The three-story front has five bays, featuring glazing bar sashes with rubbed and gauged brick heads, the third-floor windows being square. A central enclosed portico is present, with fluted Ionic pilasters supporting a dentilled pediment, sheltering a six-panel door with a traceried fanlight. A first-floor balcony, supported by pilaster piers and Ionic columns, projects from the left-hand return front, featuring tripartite sashes. The rear elevation displays an exposed timber frame in the gable front with leaded casements. A passage and service wing to the rear is not included as part of the listed structure.
