Description

House. Built in the 18th century, with origins in the 17th century. The house is timber-framed and its rear is exposed with plaster and brick infill, while the front is clad with sandstone rubble and brick quoins. The roof is covered in plain tiles, with tile hanging on the gables. The house has two storeys over a basement and features a platband above the ground floor, extending over the ground floor windows and partially rendered. A fine corbelled stack is located on the ridge to the left of centre, and there’s an end stack to the right. The first floor has three large, 20th-century, three-light windows and a small window above the front door. The ground floor has three large windows. The front door, located to the left of centre, is made up of six fielded panels and is sheltered by a flat hood on braces with scroll hangers above. A 20th-century wing extends at right angles to the rear.
