Description
The summer house, built between 1928 and 1929, is located in the rock garden to the east of Hascombe Court. It was part of garden improvements designed by Percy Cane for Sir John Jarvis Bart. The structure is made of Bargate stone rubble and features ten bays with a shingled roof, which was originally thatched. The summer house has an open front supported by wooden posts and a splayed shape. The rear elevation includes two wooden mullioned windows with leaded lights. The western section of the building has a wooden door and a semi-circular arch over a stream, along with a stone slab floor, while the eastern part has a wooden floor. This summer house is one of five garden buildings situated at Hascombe Court.
