Description

Reelhall is a house dating from the 17th century, significantly restored in the 20th century. It is timber-framed, with exposed timber below white-washed render infill, tile hanging above, including fishscale bands, and a canted bay window with tile hanging to the ground floor right. The roof is tiled, half-hipped at the right end. The house follows a T-shaped plan, with a wing projecting at right angles to the rear and extensions to the left end. It has two storeys, with an attic in the gable end to the left. The first floor is jettied, and there is a rebuilt multiple stack to the rear right and rear left, as well as a further stack to the left side. The windows are 20th-century casements, with two leaded windows on each floor to the right, and one window on each floor of the gable end bay. A gabled two-storey porch is located in the re-entrant angle, featuring a narrow first floor window above jetty braces and a studded door on the ground floor. A rear wing extends with a catslide roof over the ground floor, including two dormers. Further extensions to the left, connecting to a garage, are not of special interest.
