Description
The Working Men's Club (west part), formerly a school, is a building dating from around 1900. It has two storeys on the left side and one tall storey on the right. The right bay features a gabled roof and a large, segment-headed window with two rows of transoms, which likely served as the former school hall. The first floor of the left bay is tile-hung and blank, while the other walls are made of coursed dressed stone with quoins. On the ground floor, there is a three-light casement window set under a flat gauged red brick arch. The further set-back left bay is also tile-hung above and includes an open shelter on the ground floor. The building has high pitched swept tiled roofs, with a rear span on the left and a gabled wing at the back on the right.
