Description

The Staff of Life Public House is an 18th-century, two-storey building with two windows, notable for its wide proportions. It is constructed from coursed and galleted malmstone rubble, featuring red brick quoins. The front of the building is now tile-hung on the first floor. The ground floor is largely obscured by a modern glazed projection that includes a central porch with a hipped tiled roof. The main roof is half hipped and slopes low at the back, with chimneys at each end. There are late 19th-century red brick extensions at the rear. The building is included in the register partly due to its prominent corner position.
