Description
Number 16, known as the premises of J H Dewhurst, is a 18th-century building located on the north-west side of The Borough. It is two storeys tall with an attic and features a brick moulded and bracketed cornice. The roof is a mansard style covered with old tiles, and there are three dormers. The façade includes three brick panels and two windows, each four panes wide, arranged alternately, along with an early 19th-century three-light window on the right side of the first floor. The adjacent Number 15, which is The Gift Shop, has a plain early 19th-century shop front with altered glazing framed by pilasters and an entablature. The shop front for Dewhurst is described as a poor modern addition.
