Description
Stone setts in Borelli's Yard date from the 18th to 19th century. These small setts of pitched ironstone cover the entire width and length of the yard, with two narrow bands of large, irregularly shaped stone cobbles running along the same length. To the north of the stable block, the ironstone setts are arranged in a decorative diamond-shaped mosaic. This feature was illustrated in Country Life on July 10th, 1942. The east fronts of Nos 35 and 36, the stable block in the southeast corner, and the stone setts in Borelli's yard all contribute to a cohesive group.
