Description
The Dog and Pheasant Public House is a hall house that dates from the late 15th century to early 16th century and has been altered and extended in the 1930s. It features a timber frame with a whitewashed brick front and tile hanging above, topped with a hipped and gablet plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of four framed bays, with a rear stack located to the left of centre and additional stacks at both ends.
There are four windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor, with one window in a flat-roofed extension that projects forward to the left end. A part-glazed door is situated to the right under a flat hood supported by scroll brackets, with another door at the centre and a part-glazed door to the left. The rear has 20th-century extensions, including a tile-hung wing that is positioned at right angles to the main structure. Some small sections of the original framing are still exposed.
