Description
The forecourt wall and railings, gates, and gate piers to the Baptist Chapel were built in the 19th century. The low wall is made of red brick with a rendered coping. It features short later 19th century panelled railings, which consist of broad panels divided into three sections, supported by square standards topped with undulating finials. The panelled gates match this design. The low brick gate piers have chamfered edges and rendered capping. Additionally, the north return wall is constructed of flint rubble, with a brick lacing course and brick capping, and is taller than the main wall. The Baptist Chapel and the forecourt wall and railings, along with Nos 20, 20A, 20B, 22 to 26 (even), and Nos 32 to 42 (even), form a cohesive group.
