Description

The Pound and Little Pound is a house, originally built in the 17th century and later extended in the 19th century. The house is L-shaped. The right-hand section is timber-framed and underbuilt in brick, with brick infill to the exposed frame above, and brickwork below. The left-hand section is brick below and has tile hanging above, with some fishscale pattern tiles to the extensions. The roof is tiled, hipped, and includes a gablet. There is a single storey and attic to the right-hand section, with three diamond-pane, leaded-casement windows under a hipped dormer roof. Three chimney stacks are present: one at the left end, one to the right of centre, and a central stack with a corbelled top. The right-hand section has three ground-floor windows and a plank door under a wooden lintel. A projecting bay to the left of centre has two small oblong diamond-pane windows on the ground floor and one central window on the first floor. A door is located to the left on the ground floor.
