Description
Rosemary Croft is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions added to the left in the 19th century and to the front and rear in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame, with whitewashed brick cladding below and tile hanging above, displaying an alternating pattern of square and curved tiles. There are brick extensions to the left, with tile hanging on the face, and brown and grey brick extensions at the left end, all covered by plain tiled roofs, hipped over the cross wing on the right. The ground floor pentice is covered with corrugated asbestos. The house has an H-shape plan and is two storeys high, with corbelled multiple stacks located to the right of the centre at the junction with the cross wing.
On the right-hand cross wing, there is one 3-light, diamond-pane, wood-framed leaded casement window on each floor, along with a small window on the first floor. The centre of the first floor has two 3-light windows, and there is one casement window on each floor of the bargeboarded left-hand wing. The ground floor extension across the centre features two large diamond-pane casement windows. A door is located to the left in the cross wing, sheltered by a flat hood. The end wall on the left displays a shaped half-Dutch gable moulding.
