Description
4A Downing Street is a building that dates from the late 18th century to the 19th century and has been altered. It is two storeys high and is located adjacent to No 3 Lower Church Lane, facing both Lower Church Lane and Downing Street.
On the first floor along Lower Church Lane, there are two horizontal sliding sash windows, followed by three small modern casements with leaded panes, and a corner featuring corbelling to Downing Street. The ground floor has, from left to right, two windows that are four panes wide, a round-headed doorway, and modern casements with leaded panes, also at the corner to Downing Street.
When facing Downing Street, the first floor has two modern windows, while the ground floor features a modern bow window with Gothic glazing and a doorway to the right of it. The building is graded II for its group value, as it forms part of a group with Nos 3 to 17 Lower Church Lane.
