Description
Jarves Farmhouse is a house dating from the 15th century, with extensions added in the 16th century. It features a timber frame that is clad in red and brown brick at the bottom, with tile hanging above at the front and exposed framing at the rear, which has rendered infill. The roof is plain tiled, with some Horsham slabs on the rear pitch, and there is a front ridge stack located to the left of center and a rear stack to the left. The building has a T-shaped plan with a wing extending at right angles to the rear. It is two storeys tall, with brick dentils across the ground floor. The windows are regularly spaced casements, with three 3-light windows on the first floor and larger windows on the ground floor. There is a planked door to the left of center, which is sheltered by a flat hood. The left-hand return front shows exposed framing, while the rear features a catslide roof to the left and a single-storey gabled extension extending from the rear chimney.
