Description

The Old Butchers House is a late 17th-century house with a former shop on the ground floor, which has been restored in the late 20th century. It is timber framed and has rendered external cladding, with a slate roof, an end stack to the right, and a tile-hung gable to the right. The house has two storeys, plus an attic in the gable. There are two 20th-century casement windows on the first floor, and a glazing bar sash window on the ground floor to the right. A central panelled door is sheltered by a slate pent roof porch, which extends to the left over a window, and is supported by cast iron pillars. Brick extensions are present at the rear. Internally, some of the timber framing is visible, and a carved overmantel is found in one room.
