Description
This is a house, currently operating as a restaurant, dating back to the 15th century, with an 19th-century extension to the left. The original section is timber-framed and sits on a rubble-stone and rendered plinth. The right side is clad in whitewashed brick, while the extension to the left features red and blue brick and fishscale tile hanging. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, with front ridge stacks positioned to the right and left of center.
The jettied gable front to the left has curly bargeboards on brackets and a spike finial. Windows include two casement windows on the first floor to the right, a leaded triple pointed arched casement with a shallow pent roof on the first floor of the gable, and a glazing bar sash window on the ground floor to the right. A double light pointed arched casement is located to the left on the ground floor. A three-quarter glazed door is positioned to the right of centre, alongside a planked door to the left, and a 20th-century arched and studded door at the left end. A wing extends at a right angle to the rear, revealing an exposed crown post within the gable.
The interior shows visible timber framing.
