Description
This building, known as Nos. 61-65 on High Street, is a row of cottages dating from the 17th century. It features a timber frame set on a rubblestone plinth, with whitewashed rendered cladding and a plain tiled roof. The structure has an end stack on the left, another stack to the right of the center, and three oversailing gables at the ends and in the center.
The cottages are two stories tall, with a plat band above the ground floor. The first floor has four casement windows, one of which is leaded, while the ground floor windows have camber head relieving arches. The entrance to No. 61, known as Doldetox, is a half-glazed door accessed by a flight of six steps, sheltered by a flat hood supported on braces. No. 63 features a part-glazed plank door under a bracketed flat hood, accessed by five steps. No. 65 has a panelled half-glazed door that is reached by three steps and is covered by a flat metal hood on brackets. Additionally, there are three wings at right angles to the rear of the building.
