Description

This is a house, now divided into two properties, dating to the 16th century with a significant 18th-century facade. The building is timber-framed and rests on a rendered plinth. The ground floor on the right is red brick with blue headers, while the left side is rough cast. The roof is tiled with ridge stacks at each end. The second floor features three leaded casement windows, with the right-hand window incorporating wooden mullions and transoms. There are two blocked windows on the left side, and two square oriel windows supported by brackets on the ground floor to the right. A plank door, raised two steps, leads to No. 42, while a arched glazed door sits to the left of centre, serving No. 44. Some of the original timber framing is visible inside.
