Description

Friars Cottage is a 16th-century cottage with a 20th-century extension and renovations. The building has a timber frame set on a rubble stone and brick plinth, with brick infill and rendered infill above. The roof is plain tiled, hipped, with gablets and a large front ridge stack located to the right of the centre. It is two storeys high, with three framed bays featuring curved bracing; the windows are 20th-century leaded casements. A planked door is located to the left, sheltered by a gabled porch hood supported by brackets. A square bay is set back to the left end under a hipped roof, and a weatherboard pent roof addition extends from the right end.
