Description
Staines Bridge, opened in 1832, was designed by engineer-architects George Rennie and John Rennie. The bridge is constructed of rusticated granite ashlar and features three segmental arches with side pylons. These pylons have a roll mould cornice and a parapet that includes an arched footway. The bridge also has rounded breakwaters and modern railings above the roll-mould cornice. To the north, there are four modern approach arches made of brick, and two more to the south. The bridge was opened by William IV and Queen Adelaide.
