Description

Staines Bridge, located in the Borough of Runnymede, was opened in 1832 and designed by engineers George and John Rennie. The bridge is constructed of rusticated granite ashlar and features three segmental arches supported by side pylons. These pylons have a roll mould, cornice, and parapet, which includes an arched footway. The bridge also has rounded breakwaters and modern railings on the parapet above the roll-mould cornice. To the north, there are four later approach arches made of brick, and to the south, there are two similar arches. The bridge was inaugurated by William IV and Queen Adelaide.
