Description
The Young Elizabeth is a former public house, now part of the Anne Boleyn Hotel, dating from the 17th century. The building features a stucco ground floor with brickwork above and hipped tiled roofs. It is two storeys high with an attic. The front elevation includes a central panelled door with a hood and a splay-sided bay window on each side. There is a wood band course at the first-floor level, which has three 12-pane sash windows with cills linked by a string course. A wrought iron bracket for a sign was added in 1981. The attic has two dormer windows with hipped tiled roofs, and there is a staircase turret at the rear. Inside, the staircase has turned spindles, and the main beams on the ground floor are exposed. A mid-20th century extension has been added to the rear.
