Description
Clarence House, located at No. 31 Clarence Street in Staines, is a building dating from around 1832, though it is thought to be from 1824. It is three storeys high and constructed of yellow brick, featuring gauged brick flat arches. The building has paired eaves brackets supporting a slate roof.
There are five windows: glazing bar sash windows on the second and ground floors, and French casements on the first floor that open onto a balcony adorned with attractive cast-iron work. The ground floor is finished in stucco with channelled rustication. The central doorway is arched and includes a traceried fanlight above. The door itself has three panels, with the upper and lower panels being fielded and the centre panel flush with reeded detailing and a central roundel, along with the original knocker.
