Description
The Royal Holloway College swimming pool, located southwest of the main building, is an indoor swimming pool dated 1893, as noted on the door hood. It features an original filtration plant that is still operational. The building has a red brick plinth with pebble-dash bands above and a hipped tile roof. It has a single-storey rectangular plan with narrow windows at the west end. The upper half of the roof is glazed above the pool, which is lined with white glazed bricks and has a stone surround. The roof consists of six bays supported by trusses of rod-braced rafters. Access to the pool is through a range of twelve changing cubicles, which have a gallery above them, with lavatories and showers located at the rear. The interior is finished in red brick.
