Description
The swimming pool at Skibo Castle dates from around 1900 and features an ashlar construction. The gabled frontage contains changing rooms with a projecting crowstepped porch and a crenellated entrance. The decorative crowstepped gable ends are highlighted by large lunette windows that are subdivided with smaller windows. The swimming pool itself has seven buttressed bays, each filled with round-headed tripartite windows, and a canted five-sided south end.
Additional architectural details include a continuous string course and a moulded eaves cornice. The pool is covered by a glazed roof, while the changing rooms have a slated roof with a polygonal ridge ventilator. Inside, the area surrounding the pool is finished with tiles and a chequered paved design.
