Description

These timber-framed buildings, possibly with mediaeval origins on the left-hand side, comprise two distinct phases of construction. The left part is two storeys and two bays, while the right part, dating from the early 18th century, is two storeys and an attic, with a single bay. The roofs are tiled. First-floor windows on the left are set within irregular gables that break the eaves. The first floor on the right-hand side is pebble-dashed, with brickwork below and for the entire right bay. A first-floor band is present, along with the remains of a segmental arch over a ground-floor opening. The windows are modern casements. There are remnants of a centrally placed inserted chimney. In the right gable is crude ornamental plasterwork bearing the date 1626. There is an additional range of buildings located behind the main structure. Farley, Farley Cottage, West Lodge (including the Coach-house), and Wallfield Lodge form a group together.
