Description

Two late 17th or early 18th century cottages stand on Rockshaw Road in Merstham. Each cottage is two storeys high with two windows, and the southern cottage is set at a right angle to the main front. They have steeply pitched tiled roofs with half-hips at the outer ends, and large, old end chimneys with offsets. The southern chimney has a later buttress and a half-gable end raised to support it. The cottages are constructed of squared rubble masonry; the northern cottage has snecked stonework and some very large blocks. They now have modern small-paned casement windows. A modern porch, built of matching materials, has been added to Noddyshall.
