Description

Spicers is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed building located on Westfield Road. It features a 19th century parallel range at the back. The original house consists of three bays, is one storey high, and is tile hung with attics. The timber-framing has brick infilling on the side elevations, and it has a steeply pitched tiled roof with three dormers. The windows are casement style, and there is a gabled weather porch. An external brick chimney-stack includes a bread oven. The 19th century range has a ground floor made of red brick and a first floor covered with curved tiles, topped by a tiled roof. This section includes two casement windows and a cambered doorcase. The original range features a roof constructed with clasped purlins and straight wind braces.
