Description

Spicers Farm Barn is an early 16th century and early 17th century four-bay timber-framed barn that consists of two builds. It features timber framing with modern brick nogging set on Charlwood stone footings. The barn has square framing with curved braces. Three of the bays have a Crown post roof structure supported by heavy jowl posts, topped with a tiled roof that includes a gablet. The early 17th century bay has a half nipped roof. The Crown post is supported by two braces that extend up to the collar purlin and two braces that extend down to the tie.
