Description
Tifters is a 16th century or earlier timber-framed hall-house featuring a two-bay open hall and a solar wing. It was restored and enlarged in the early 20th century by the architects Imrie and Angell. The original part of the building is half H-shaped, with the north-west wing having plaster infilling, while the rest of the north front is tile-hung. The south front is constructed of red brick. The roof has Horsham slabs on the south side and tiles on the north. The house includes three casement windows and a two-storey jettied porch with barge boards. Inside, there are Crown posts and fine joists in the inserted ceilings of the open hall.
