Description

Weavers Cottages, located on Ifield Road, is a 15th-century open hall-house with a 17th-century wing and inserted chimneystacks, which has been restored. The ground floor features a combination of curved tile hanging and timber framing with diagonal braces and red brick infilling. The building has a tiled roof with one gable and five casement windows. There is a modern wing made of red brick and tile hanging. Inside, the structure showcases steeply sloping arched braces supporting the open crown post trusses, along with jowled upright posts. Wooden diamond mullions are still present in the hall window. This building was likely a weaver's house.
