Description

Ringers is a 16th-century timber-framed house originally consisting of three bays, with two wings that were possibly added in the 17th century. The house is two storeys high, with the ground floor refronted in red brick and the upper floor tile hung. The westernmost window bay features a gable that is entirely tile hung. It has a tiled roof with a central chimneystack, and each wing has its own outside chimneystack. The house includes four casement windows and a simple doorcase. Originally, there was a smoke bay where the central chimney now stands. The chimney in the parlour wing has an outside bread oven, with the opening located within the ingle nook hearth, which also features a salt hole.
