Description
Robins is a late 15th to early 16th century hall-house that includes a modern wing designed to match the original style. The building was initially a one-bay open hall with both ends floored. It stands two storeys high and is timber-framed with square framing and some curved braces. The exterior features painted brick and some plaster infilling. The original part of the house has a hipped roof made of Horsham slabs, with a gablet, while the modern wing has a tiled roof. A central brick chimneystack is present, and there are four casement windows in total. The doorcase features a hipped weather board. Inside, there is a clasped purlin wind brace roof, and remnants of framing for a smoke bay can be seen. The building also displays a good series of carpenter's marks.
